The point of my story was
not to seek any pity…I understand it comes with my
career. But it made me realize how much of our life’s
journey is out of our control. Many of my close friends
and family know that the past few months have been spent
supporting Jon, my fiancé and business partner tackle
stage four melanoma. He’s been in and out of the
hospital and doctor’s office since the end of April.
Although we hate not being able to spend time together
on the golf course or take bike rides through the parks,
we accept this as yet another chapter in the story of
our life. In fact the doctors are amazed at his
optimistic attitude.
Charles Swindall said
“Life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% how I respond
to it.” In other words, although we may not be able
to change bad weather putting a cramp in our travel
plans, nor getting bad news from a doctor, boss, family
member or friend…we do have the power to choose how we
deal with the situation.
Timing is everything!
The second edition of my best-selling book
Attitude: The Choice is Yours has just been
published. It’s got a new look and a fresh perspective
to help people gain control of their life by gaining
control of their attitude. This 110-page book is packed
with practical strategies and exercises to help you
understand, analyze, adjust and maintain the right frame
of mind at work and at home….even when you are dealing
with the difficult attitudes of other people!
Allow me to wet your
appetite with a sampling from each chapter (chapter one
is outline below,
